InterAct Math Tutorial Software

The InterAct Math Tutorial Software, provided on a dual-platform Windows/Macintosh CD-ROM, has been developed by professional software engineers working closely with a team of experienced math instructors. The software provides exercises that correspond to each section-level objective in the text; these exercises require the same computational and problem-solving skills as the section exercises in the book. Each InterAct exercise is accompanied by an example and an interactive guided solution designed to involve students in the solution process and help them identify precisely where they are having trouble. For each section of the text, the software tracks student activity and scores, which can be printed out in summary form.

MathXL

MathXL is a Web-based testing and tutorial system that allows students to take practice tests similar to the chapter tests in their book. MathXL generates a personalized study plan that indicates students' strengths and pinpoints topics where they need more practice. The program then provides the practice and instruction students need to improve their skills. The user's test scores and practice sessions are tracked by the program so that students can monitor their progress throughout the semester. The mathxl.com Web site requires each student to purchase a user ID and login password.

Math Tutor Center

The Addison Wesley Longman Math Tutor Center will provide FREE tutoring to students using the eighth edition of Business Mathematics. Assisted by qualified mathematics instructors via phone, fax, or e-mail, students will receive tutoring on examples, exercises, and problems contained in the text. Each new book can be bundled with a registration number that provides the student with a free 6-month subscription to the service. The Math Tutor Center is open Sunday through Thursday from 3pm to 10pm Eastern Standard Time.
