In 1977, McDonald's selected the best high school basketball players in the country and named them to the first McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Team. One year later, McDonald's launched its own all-star high school game: the McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Game, an all-star event featuring an East and a West team of the best high school players in the country. The attendance of all games played, as of 1999, totaled 241,545.

1. Search www.mcdonalds.com/sports/allamerican/funfactstrivia/index.html.Find the total points scored for all games played from 1978 to 1999 for the West, and then for the East. See if you can estimate a reasonable answer before you actually add the scores.

2. What is the difference between the total points scored in the East and the total points scored in the West?

3. By dividing the total attendance by the number of games played, find the average size of each crowd. Round your answer to the nearest whole number.
