Dewey's Construction bought a shipment of tools from Coastal Tools. The order was placed over the Internet by pulling up www.coastaltool.com and entering the Shopping Plaza. The order consisted of 4 Milwaukee grinders #4931, and 2 M79HC4V compressors. When the invoice arrived, Dewey was surprised to see the total list prices with a 5/10/25 series discount.

1. By searching www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/main.htm?E+coastest, find the list price of the grinder and compressor.

2. Calculate the total cost of these tools.

3. Calculate the net cost and the trade discount.

   Remember: you cannot add the discounts and multiply once. Each discount must be found and subtracted separately.

4. If the invoice stated the list price less a discount of 35% instead of the 5/10/25, which discount would be better, and by what amount?

Show all your work. Since catalog prices are subject to change, include the prices used and the date of your research with your answer. In solving this problem, it may be helpful to review Section 6.2 in your textbook.
