Web Application Chapter 10 page 406
There is a wealth of investment information available in newspapers, magazines, and on the Internet. However, this information is of little value if you cannot understand or interpret what it means. The goal of this Web Application is to help you look for selected stocks on the Dow Jones Web site. Visit www.dowjones.com, and select Dow Jones Industrial Average. Every firm listed on the stock exchange is identified by a symbol. Some of these symbols are easily recognizable (IBM, for example, is IBM), while others are not (Union Carbide is UK). Select DJIA Stocks (www.dowjones.com/corp/index_average.html), and complete the following exercise. Listed below are ten of the thirty stocks that make up the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Match the correct company with its symbol. Use www.dowjones.com/corp/index_average.html to complete this section.
