Keyword: fare Primary URL: www.fhwa.dot.gov

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority offers transportation via subway, rail, bus, and boat. Dr. Nafez Alyan divided his business math class into four groups. Each group was assigned a mode of transportation. The goals of each group were to find the fare, interview a port authority employee, and find the dollar amount of daily sales. Then, the students were to calculate the mean number of tickets sold each day. To narrow the assignment down, Dr. Alyan gave permission to use adult cash fares only. Group 1 was assigned to the subway.

Type in www.mbta.com/text-only/ and select ticket booth. Now assist group 1 in completing the assignment. Start at www.fhwa.dot.gov and surf your way to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Web site.
